hello.
i buy way too much music.
and i would like you to do the same.
following is some good stuff i have picked up recently.

8/28/99

diversion group: playground procedure 12" <downwards>
(o'connor, child, sutton)
this is good stuff! each side (2 songs in total) starts off with sick,
pounding, dark techno, then goes into soundscapey idm/ambient [un]friendly
bits of sound. best of 2 worlds.

terre thaemlitz: 7" <a-muzak>
two beautiful soothing bits of ambient with the occasional harsh/glitchy
interruption. quite poppy. quite good. very catchy. verre terre.
"a-muzak" is punny funny fun as well. more please.

cex vs colongib: 7" <underscore>
almost as fun as being stuck in a game of gradius on a sunday afternoon (i
would say AS fun, but that would be colongib's contribution to the "blip,
bleep" soundtrack :). i really like the lo-fi (am i allowed to use that
term here?) sound to this.

kid606 vs chris coady: 7" <underscore>
who is chris coady and did he give kid606 qualudes? mellow and melodic.
quite a suprise, and one that i will listen to often! i enjoy the fact
that mr606 is maintaining some diversity here (though i think one of the
songs is a mix of a spacewurm song). the cat-kitty obsession continues.
cute cute.

goodiebag#1vu (various artists: steuea, goodiepal, remixes from v/vm): 7"
        <v/vm and/or ????>
the original tracks are VERY cute and VERY silly. no, really. if you're
having a shitty, snobby,
all-i-can-listen-to-is-cold-german-techno-and-sterile-idm-and-deep-dark-
harsh-noise-and-snotty-pretentious-industrial day, then try this: put on
the side with the v/vm reworkings. then soak in some dark, ambient
soundscapes -- that is until the v/vm humour (tm) kicks in. then flip the
record, and enjoy some of the cutest moments of electronic music ever!
then stick to land of the loops and jj perrey for the rest of the day and
you will be fine. it will all be okay. trust me.

...more to come.

thanks,

chris.
