>> Tosca "Fuck Dub" 'single' is actually longer than most full-length >What can you tell me about Fuck Dub? *Is* it dubby - or not? Never >heard of these people - is it out on CD / 2x 12's or what? Don't know what this is but I have the Fuck Dub remixes vol 2. It has three tracks... A1 Fuck Dub (Fauna Flash Remix) - Good jungly reworking that remains dancefloor friendly without being super-dark. B1 Fuck Dub (Haaksman Mix) - My fave on here. Trip-hoppy, but very nice. Slow, nice break with snippets of organ, wibbly noises and deep bass. Kind of Mo'Wax style like on the Headz compilation but without the scratching and total hip-hop obsession. B2 Fuck Dub (Fuck Electro Beanfield Mix) - Weird slow synthy vocal excursion. Vocals remind me of Robert Wyatt on Ultramarine's 'United Kingdoms' LP. My white label copy doesn't credit the remix to anyone though... All the mixes are good. Anyway, Tosca is one half of Kruder and Dorfmeister (Dorfmeister I think) and someone else, all from Viena. They have an LP out called 'Opera', but I don't have this either. All release are on G-Stone, their own label. Remixes vol 2 is G-Stone 006. I imagine their original tracks sound closest to the Haaksman mix, kind of slow sleepy dub influnced trip-hop. Or maybe the Beanfield mix is one of their own. That's all for now, Graham. _______________________________________________________________________ Sammy Rawlins' "VIRTUAL JUKEBOX" Netscape Only (For Now) RA's & WAVs of *cylob* *squarepusher* *full cycle* *turn on* *lemon d* *etc* ----> http://www.geocities.com/SoHo/Gallery/8587/4musjuke.htm plus The Busted Worldview of "LOOK WHAT THE CAT DRAGGED IN" _______________ http://www.geocities.com/SoHo/7691 ____________________
