>SUBROSA : Underwood (SubRosa) >This '96 sampler features an interesting slew of culprits : Seefeel >/ Scanner / MoM / Islamic Diggers / Mick Harris / Bill Laswell et al. >Opening track is supplied by N^us (who?) : a sublimely beautiful and >haunting song titled "Lament" but the voice is Tom Jones does Peter >out of Type O Negative. Pity, because it's actually the standout >track here. These rest come and go without grabbing my by the >ankle, although I do seem to have been playing it rather a lot. Only >jarring appearance comes from Laibach, who seem to be a little out >of place amongst the others on offer. Also - Underwood II is out now at a nice reduced sampler price. As well as having some software for the PC and Mac (which is a multimedia track by David Shea and Robert Hampson which I haven't tried because for the Mac you need to install new CD software and I'm pretty happy with what I've got thankyouverymuch) there's unexclusive tracks by bisk, bill laswell feat. ninj, scanner, tone rec, oval vs main (utterly fantastic), and mick harris/eraldo bernocchi (extremely dark and lovely). I'm pretty sure Sub Rosa are on the web somewhere but I forget where for the moment. I'll have a wee look later if it helps... Rubyjune.
