Anyone connecting to either Betalounge or The Skinny in hopes of hearing Funkstorung live might have been surprised to hear techno and house...only one room of the three were netcast live...but archives of the other two rooms will be available on at least one of the above named sites. I thought Funkstorung's set was excellent. Pretty much one continuous song, with sampled sounds being manipulated and drum beats thrown in now and then. I think their sound carried over very well to the live format, and you could tell they put lots of rehearsal into it. They went on right after Andrea Parker, so the tempo and energy level shifted, but the crowd was feeling it, pushing in from the drum and bass room (where Ming and FS were doing cool hip-hop jungle things). Toward the end of the set, the power got yanked on accident, so they cut a little short, and DJ Craze took over. Anyone who made it out for the show also was blessed with a tag-team set of A Guy Called Gerald and Andrea Parker, which sould also be archived in a few days. I'll send out a message when everything gets sorted. darren
