being's 'tides' 2x12" is pretty damn cool. i haven't found too much like
it, and if anyone else can suggest stuff with this sense of space, (i often
compare it to 'polar sequences') i'd like to hear about em'. it's quiet and
spooky ambient space hip hop, all centering around the same theme. also, if
you can find it, there is a really cool double cd called 'selected
transmissions: point two' on the emissions label that is super smooth. came
out in 1995, i believe. it's a collection of tracks from the monthly
emissions transmission 12"s, i believe there were three of them. if anyone
here in the states has any available or can get there hands on any of these,
i'd make it worth your while.

it's one thing to give a shout about something they like, or are involved
with. it's another to try to create hype. the difference seems to lay in
whether you believe in that old yarn: 'there's no such thing as bad press'.

on now: built to spill 'there's nothing wrong with love' (up!)
