Off-topic, yes, but I figured this is relevant to the occasional threads about Out of Sight and Pi and whatever else...
If you're looking for a great movie with an IDM-relevant score, andhave access to a decent old-movie library, check out Man With a Movie Camera by Vertoz. The movie itself would appeal to many listmembers--there's so much technological festishization, and implicit commentary on the artistic process(it's a silent Sovet montage that seems like a documentary trip thru Russia, only to be intercut with shots filming the cameraman. Sometimesthe farmes grind to a halt and the action goes to the production studio, only for the still frames to start back up again. Weird stuff, and never boring. Almost completely non-linear. And some amazing shots of old machines). And the music... Pierre Henry, doing something amazingly funky for so far back in the day, with the occasional electronic bleep. Don't know if it qualifies as musique concrete, but it incorporates train noises and all sortsof other stuff... If you're in the mood for an old movie that has nothing to do with hollywoo!

The new Black Star LP is great, I've written up a long review and don't want to clog the list. Just buy it.
