that's not so surprising, knowing what kind of music they cover.  the
people who'd be likely to know what a discography is are people into
certain pop/rock bands which typically appeal to collectors &
completists or into jazz, electronic music, experimental music, & any
kind of music which puts more focus into what a given artist has done in
their career than whatever new single thay have on mtv these days.

it doesn't make much sense talking of a discography in the case of some
big-hit band which in most people's mind hasn't done anything (not even
a demo) before releasing their first major label record, or their latest
mtv hit for that matter.

or it could be that their test group was incredibly retarded.

or both.
