If a socket is normalled to a signal (e.g. +12V) it does not output the normalled signal as it's an INPUT socket (i.e. the socket of the A-164 does not output +12V !). Only the internal switching contact of the socket does forward this internal signal as long as no plug is inserted into the socket. The socket is not marked as +12V but has a small arrow labelled "+12V" that directs to the socket. This means that this INPUT socket is internally normalled to +12V as long as no plug is inserted.
