Artist: Fluoroscopic Kid Title: Soft Drink Jihad Label: Sonic Therapy (http://www.sonictherapy.com) soft drink jihad (str-003) a1 soft drink jihad - Kid F. An odd poppish guitar number. I normally do not listen to music like this so I will refrain from reviewing. That sounds harsh but it isn't. Just not good a reviewing stuff I am not into. a2 hekla's bout (hrvatski re-queue) Think industrial. Think Hip Hop. Think quick cuts. This is what Dummy Run would sound like if they were a lot calmer (or on prozak). A fun dark track. Some sounds recognizable from the original. a3 codec's caffeinated mix : remix and additional prod by r.galbraith Like the beats on this one. Nice use of reverb and atmosphere. Cool little noises come and go. Very clean sounding to. Which is unusal these days. Once again a dark feel. Inspired from the original with perhaps the beat used as source. No other obvious samples to my ears. b1 if.cthen.else mix loooooow bass. Made my sub happy. For some reason I think funky sounding plug research style techno. I like. Song definitely keeps my attention. Easily the best remix on the 12 inch. I gotta get the full length by them. b2 ftdr_nkj (remix by cathars) starts out like Pan Sonic but then disentegrates (rapidly) into glitches and oval like atmosphere. The sounds used are compelling and not just an exercise in being obscure. When music like this is done right it is stunning. And this was done right. -daniel Head Monkey Mad Monkey Records http://monkey.eliteware.com
