I would like to be the first to disagree
with all the positive comments regarding
SOS... but I can't, because the music
is too damn strong. I would say that
these 3 discs demand a very long attention
span, but close listening will be rewarded
due to N Zammuto's obsessive attention to
detail (the cover of dozens of tic-tac-toe
games may clue you in to his sonic aesthetic).
This guy is all about details, and fortunately,
he knows what sounds good.
I'd never heard of Mr. Zammuto and, frankly,
I get lots of CD-Rs that never should have
left their creators' studio, so I had reason
to be skeptical. But SOS is a serious
force to be reckoned with. What a pleasant
surprise his triple CD is.
