+1 on the Kenton splitter. I have the long stick version: (THRU-25)

This approach allows me to keep the studio core permanently hooked up
but to have a the satellite stuff unhooked and ready. Its quick and
easy to make anything work with everything. Some stuff does not work
well on a busy bus: Emax, Poly6 with rev0 CHD MIDI, et c. These instruments
are only hung on the MIDI as needed.
