the movies that started it all: go http://www.nfb.ca/E/1/4/index.html search for 'canada vignettes' (boolean AND). the Boards, has you probably read everywhere, have found a great deal of inspiration in those little 'vignettes' that used to air in between the afternoon shows when i was a kid... They were not, however, exclusively about wildlife, as I thought. The interludes on MHTRTC are remarkably authentic reinterpretations of the usual score to those movies, and the sound of wildlife at the very end of Turquoise Hexagon Sun are probably samples.
