the quality can be rough, and it varies from record to record.  i have a 
dean roberts/guy treadgold _cassavetes_ lp that has to be coerced to let the 
needle into it's tight little groove.  as for how useful lathe-cuts are to a 
hip-hop DJ (especially if you want to scratch), i don't know.

there used to be a web page for king records hosted by imperial records (i 
think).  it had prices, quantities, mastering requirements, description of 
the polycarbonate stock he uses...  you can gets custom shapes and some 
horrible color labels as well.

the sound can be kind of rough, but it can also be nice and tactile (like 
most of the dean roberts/white winged moth stuff).  the more recent 
lathe-cuts i've gotten have sounded/played better.  could be just a 
coincidence.

anway.  give king records money.
