Is that 0/Noto thing available on CD, or only double 10"? I quite liked the noto track on the Decay compilation Ash International just released, and the recent Mika Vainio CD was 1/4 _brilliant_ (3/4 mediocre, but hey, 1/4 is more than most)... his remix of Tactile (as 0) is the greatest thing I have heard from that entire school of electronic music. The whole Tactile rmx cd is wonderful, but that one is even better than the coil, scorn, and solaris mixes. To those who care: the new Wordsound compilation, Shake the Nation, is unbelievably good. Where else will you find Prince Paul remixed by Eraldo Bernocchi (formerly of a noise band in Italy, now moonlighting with Mick Harris) and Equations of Eternity remixed by Scott Harding (one of the geniuses behind all that is New Kingdom)? But every single track on the 2 CDs is just great, so if you've been at all curious about the twisted dubby sound of Wordsound, this is the release to get. The new Extreme compilation, Untitled (Ten) is also wonderful... not quite as wonderful as the Wordsound, but wonderful. Tracks by Otomo Yoshihide, Muslimgauze, Merzbow, etc. with a 2nd disc of cutups of the entire Extreme catalog. The Luke Slater record sucks, terribly. The new Joey Beltram "Through the Mix" 12" is quite nice, but I think I like it so much because it caught me at a moment I wanted some really groovy acid house (which is a state I am very rarely in). blah, blah, blah... --- the humble abbott arthur purvis set his hand hereto
