My contribution to the list would be the two albums I have the hardest time
removing from the player : Witchman's "Explorimenting Beats" and T-Power's
"Waveform".
Witchman's long player assembles enough influences that you might not view it
as "innovative" but, in my opinion, it sounds like nothing else I've heard
recently. The same for "Waveform" - the combination of grit, isolation, and
smoothness lifts it to the top of my list.

But it doesn't have to be an album proper to be innovative - some of J Majik's
tracks and Andre Gurov's b-sides show more newness and creativity than either
of the albums I mentioned before (even with the complaint that what Vadim
does is basically retro).

PS - For bonus points, is anybody else going to see Tortoise in New Orleans on
the 16th of May? And are they supposed to be selling the compilation of re-
mixes (Thrill Jockey 12-9, I believe)? Anybody got a phone number for
Howlin'Wolf? Will I ever shut up and stop asking questions?
