Southern California is a 'tiny geographical region'?

Are you fucking high?

And although the 'majority' of the list does not live here, there are
QUITE a few members who do and even more who live in outlying areas and
drive hours to support the local IDM scene. If you think back, once
upon a time, every artist was a 'local boy', including the almighty god
of IDM, Richard D. James.

You snobby little shitburgers should all be happy that you're hearing
about this one before everyone else. And if you don't care, it's your
'right', plus it means more music for the people who do.

Fine, then don't. That's what you should do when you don't know what
your talking about. But I do and I'm more then happy to talk.

Alex is extremely talented and his music gets better with every new song
he writes. Thanks to friend and fellow list asshole Fresh, I've known
alex for quite some time and have followed the progression of his music
and live shows. And even more important to me is that fact that he's a
great person and a very good friend. So when I hear people slaging him
off because they don't know any better, it kind of upsets me.

Yeah, this guy is so damn underground that I've seen him play live last
year more times that every other live electronic act in LA put
together. Gigs in Coffee Houses, Theaters, Restaurants, Raves, Radio,
etc., are completely underground, right?

Oh, and how did he possibly win the IDM single of the year award?

With the amount of CDR's he's passed out in the last year, I'm actually
surprised how little talk there has been here about his music.

There are tons of great records and artists that I know I'll never hear,
but I don't whine about it. People who do just piss me off. MAS, MASK,
MARKANT, VVM, SKAM, WARP, SCHEMATIC, etc all have records that didn't
pass through my neck of the woods and that's ok. But don't ever say
that because it's rare and you've never seen it, it doesn't exist, or
deny people the right to talk about it because it's out of the realm of
your experience. That's just fucking wack.

We all bring different things to this list, it is your job to decide
which of these things are for you, and which aren't.

Please: Don't believe the hype, make up your own damn mind.
