I've never seen note on/off lag anywhere near that bad (or even long enough to be musically noticeable), but my Encore OB8 does drop bytes from sysex dumps. A full bank dump should be 7440 bytes, but sometimes I have to resend three or four times to get one that size, so I always verify my sysex dumps from it to make sure I haven't saved garbage. It seems the Encore Oberheim retrofits have some bandwidth issues...though I don't know of any other with comparable features.
