I use such a cheapo converter to record my video jams with ETC, Ediorl
V4 and Korg Entrancer. The device is this one: https://amzn.to/2wZZUPI.
I convert on an old Macbook with 2GB RAM and Mac OS 10.6.8.

The result is quite good. I recently compared the result to a 400 Buck
S-Video to HDMI converter and the quality difference is not worth the
$100, which would be the difference to a "better" USB-converter would make.

I think most people a re disappointed whe they see the result on a LCD
computer screen, because they are used to the smooth picture which a
CRT  produced.
