> A flyer I got at (the rather disappointing) Autechre, etc, show Saturday > night says Squarepusher's playing at Vinyl Thursday Nov 5th. 'damn my life sucks i just got to see autechre & plaid sat night!' i think it is what you make of it; i had a great time. didn't get to meet any idm people aside from the ones i went with (pacman (noah), sam) but it was a great show.. i saw them at the john peel meltdown show in london this summer and i can say that i enjoyed this one many times more (and i really liked the meltdown one). the other was in an auditorium like,, every just sitting and watching. this warehouse setup was frickin great. sure the sound quality wasn't excellent__but so long as you went with some friends, enjoyed the music and danced [if you wanted] what can be disappointing?? anyway,, musically:: we think we recognized 1 autechre track; one from tri repetae.. all the rest were new/improvised or whatever (hard to tell with them and their laptops). really great tracks, sort of like their lp5 stuff but also a bit more of a groove to them. plaid too, i am not as familiar with them as most,, so i recognized maybe a few tracks but couldnt tell you if the rest were new or what.. someone else will problaby tell you more about that.. and stockhausen&walkman were interesting.. never heard them before. lots of noise manipulation, sort of fun sometimes sort of annoying at others. sam: take over for the DJs, i never knew who was playing... liked them tho. bye == cg // kracfive records:: http://kracfive.apex-it.com _________________________________________________________ DO YOU YAHOO!?
