The new versions of the Ultimate1541 sounds promising, mentions standalone = mode in the specs, and has the DIN port to connect to the SP12. I think that the SP12 might use the G64 data format, and the specs to say i= t supports that format read/write in standalone mode, though it does contra= dict that on another spec page where it says read only. Have sent them an email to ask if they have had any reports of compatibilit= y with the SP12, and whether they think it might work.
