this is probably old ground, but i'm still kinda new here. . .

just picked up the burger/ink on matador. it's pretty nice, if a little
subdued (i'm kinda ignorant of ink, but i know that this is something that
should be expected with him). what i want to know is: what's up with the
odd appropriated-seemingly-from-Roxy song titles? "avalon"? "love is the
drug (paris texas)"? some of the titles are verbatim and some are a little
different. as far as i can tell they aren't really covers either, or are
they? if they are, then i have the curious disinction of having bought two
"jealous guy" covers in quirly electronic style in the last month.

on another roxy tip, i saw a tv commercial for a roxy/ferry compilation,
which caught me off guard. the total package made it look like "body +
soul" or "jock jams" any of the other cheesy comps sold on tv. weird to
hear roxy/ferry songs hawked by the tv comp announer voice guy.
