Picked up the Chris de Luca 12" on Choc. Ind before Xmas - quite nice. Not too much Ae-esq madness so the other melodious elements get a chance to shine through. Even better is the new Arovane on Din. Again, kind of Autechre-esq but this one is so melancholy and intricate, it creates its own space. Very good. >From: "Irene McC" <xxxxxxx@xxxxxxx.xxx> >Subject: (idm) Claude Young > >Is the !K7 DJ Kicks session by Claude Young VERY worth getting? Yes if you like techno from a few years back mixed damn well (doubling up, all the tricks). Done in one take unlike most mix CDs which get edited around before release. >From: Andrew Hime <xxxx@xxxx.xx.xxx> >Subject: (idm) back from Sac, as usual, it was whack > >_Music Has The Right to Children_ really is as good as you guys claim, >despite a notable resemblance to old mu-ziq. I'd rant about that, but you >guys would hate me more. I'd go with that - some of the beats are distorted and there are quite a few of those cute high-end sine-wave melodies. Its more the sounds used than track structure and stuff though I'd say. >From: Darren Keast <xxxxxx@xxxxx.xxx> >Subject: (idm) Push Button/Gescom Questions > >Is SKA02 (Gescom EP) at all rare these days? I found a new copy in the >most unlikely of record stores... It got repressed with a white sleeve (original sleeve was a 12" mailer with stamp and braille). Definitely worth picking up, one of my favourite Skams. >From: William Kurt Malkames <xxxxxxx@xxxxx.xxx> >Subject: (idm) Numbers rammed down my ear mix by Autechre > > Just picked up Impulse - One-Six-Four-One-Seven-EP Studio K7! > and it contains what I think may be the best remix by > Autechre. The weird thing is I have heard this remix before > even though I just got the 12"-was it on the Warp Radio Show > promo? Yes. Most of the tracks on the Radio promo were remixes I think. || [CiM] || xxx_@xxxxxxx.xxx || - ______________________________________________________ Get Your Private, Free Email at http://www.hotmail.com
