The advertised lineup was Jega and Sly Rossi (IQ records), but Jega didn't show as he got stuck on a train down from Manchester -- the floods affecting "middle England" buggered up most travel through the area. Bit Tonic spun some pleasant Latin-influenced jazz ("nice") for about half an hour, then Sly Rossi started off with an early Kraftwerk track (too droney for me), moving on to -- umm -- a variety of stuff, of which I only really remember the high points: a sequence of tracks mixing "from" Chaos & the Julia Set "to" Reload "to" Global Communication (travelling without moving?); and the Boards of Canada "Aquarius" single. Light show was pretty good too, a couple of PCs used for one projection and a bunch of more static or perhaps slide-based projections that I saw less of (they were behind me). After too many beers, I went home to "South Park" and some fun PlayStation games -- I'm amazed how good, and visually well-designed, Wipeout 2097 is. -- Richard
