Please allow me to spout some shit here... Not since the masters for Amon Tobins last record rolled across my desk have I been this excited. Cinematic Orchestra are a 6 piece jazz band led by Jason Swinscoe. It draws influence from the funky jazz scores of Lalo Schifrin, Andre Previn, Miles, Hancock/Headhunters, etc... but brings it up to the 90's a bit with a little sampler flavour. They've just been invited to play at the Stanley Kubrick Lifetime Acheivement Award ceremony in London, which fittingly sorta tells you where their sound is at...Cinematic Jazz! Okay, I'm done now. Sorry to be a shameless label promoter, but it's just that I like this record so damn much... Oh, and in relation to the question...'Channel One Suite' is pretty representative of the sound of the record. It's actually one of the simpler pieces on the record. Most of the other tracks are a bit more epic in nature. Take care Jeff >When can we expect a full length? > >I just heard "Channel One Suite" - amazing cinematic downtempo jazz inspired >music. Is Channel One Suite representative of most of their work? > >Thanks much, > >David
