okay, so i am excited. i have picked up some groovy stuff latey,
here we go:

novisad (tom)
very good, minimal, loopy stuff. im parts it reminds me of will sergent's
"themes for grind". really though, quite a nice cd to get lost in ...

coil:north
if youre a fan, buy this. simple as that. if youre not a fan or dont
know much about coil, i dont know if this is a good place to start -- but
its quite beautiful. the opening almost sounds like what i thought the
coil-autechre collaboration would sound like. one track really makes me
think of twin peaks, but that could be simply the dark sounds and the
"black dog" references . another track is amazing drifty minimal but
melodic-ish ambient bliss. and the final track is just a beauty with rose
mcdowell doing vocals. sometimes i wish they wouldnt be so pretentious,
but they do it so well :)

"rocking the party is no easy matter
the hands of the dj must select the right platter.."
this 12" is sooo much fun. in a good party way. no, really, its quite
impressive. mood wise? the best comparison i can make is jedi knights.
fun! yup.

i-f:playstation#2 12"
first, the song (quest) from the chill out klf tribute cd is on here.
good song, nice to have on vnyl, wasnt expecting that. playstation seems
close to the version on 'fucking consumet' -- but i havnt gone back to
compare. the other song is this weird loopy, bleepy thing. its good!

d'arcangelo/solvent 7" on suction
one song each. solvent song is on the slow side -- which is good by me :)
quite nice, in fact, im very impressed with the song. the d'arcangelo
song is good, fun, bleepy sorta electro i spose... solid release.

v/vm:machnine 7"s
i have heard 2.5 of the 7"s thus far, and really.. what the fuck. its
noise?!.. oh wait. i like noise. actually, these are pretty damn
impressive.. and though i dont think anyone would care, they seem the kind
of thing that would bridge the gap between merzbow-ish noise and
praxis/ambush/french style hardcore quite well. they *really* are good..
though i am not sure if they warrent such a high price, im glad i have
them, and will play them for friends a lot (so that way, when i end up
with no friends, i can lock myself in my room and listen to aphex all day
..or was that mozart? :)

v/vm:pigs
oink. the real new classical.
