(idm) where do we go next?

Hey all...this is sort of a 2-sided question....first, in the broader sense,
where does IDM go next? I'm inclined to think that in the fairly near
future, IDM artists will have tired of expanding rhythm, and will move on to
innovations in melody, harmony, and more strange time sigs....I for one would
like to see more attention paid to harmony....an element that seems to be
somewhat lacking in some IDM work. As for the other side of the question,
where do I personally go next? I've basically heard all I feel like hearing
(for now at least) of the major IDM-ish artists (Aphex, Squarepusher, Orb,
Orbital, et al), and explored all that I want to on the Rephlex label. I'm
interested in Atom Heart, but I can't find much info on them (him?). Also,
as I mentioned before, I'm interested in Sabres of Paradise, and a lot of the
Warp back catalog that I never got around to hearing. Finally, is there
anyone out there besides Pentatonik and Off & Gone that has an Orbital-esque
sound to them? Yes, I know a lot of you aren't fans of Orbital, but I'm
looking for stuff that pleases me, so don't butt in.
Anyway, info/opinions on either (or both) part(s) of the question are
welcome, but I will ask that if you only have info on the last part of the
question, send it to me privately. Thanks.
