Excellent- I knew I had an ally out there. This list represents tracks with a high potential for *piloerection*: that's the clinical term for when the hairs of the arms, legs, and neck prickle and raise when that perfect melody happens in music. Or, just whatever makes you say, "My God, that's brilliant" "Krib", "Tilapia", "Cichli", "Rettic AC", and "Flutter" and "Nil" by Autechre "Girl/Boy Song", "Mookid", "Acrid Avid Shred Jam", "Helioshpan", "Xtal", "Untitled 8 (AB3)", "On The Romance Tip" and Track 3, disc 1 of SAW II. Aphex of course "Indakasa" and "The Orange Theme rmx" by Cygnus X "See You" by Virtual Symmetry "A Journey To Reedham (7am mix)", "Iambic Poetry", "Beep Street", and "Rebus" by Squarepusher "Loser's March" (about 2:50 minutes into it for only about 15 seconds), "On (Mu-Ziq Mix)" by U-Ziq "Naem" by Jega "Forcasa 1&3" and "Whoblo" by Bola "Cherry Pie" by Underworld "Hallo", "Uah", "Juju", "Twift Shoeblade" by Mouse on Mars "Roygbiv" by Boards of Canada "Synek", "Bazfoul", "Balzouf", and "Ventolin (Cylob Mix)" by Cylob um, pretty much anything by Bochum Welt "Halcyon + On + ON", the Harpsichord part at 9:00 minutes into the Box, "Belfast", "Forever", and "Monday" by Orbital "Tesla", "Symmetry", "Fill 1", and "Ballet-Fusion Remix" by Speedy J Virtually everything by Global Communication and Reload (a few exceptions) As exhaustive as that list feels, I think there is more. Many of the items listed are probably standard issue of virtually every user on this list- unfortunately, my geographical location prevents me from basically everything IDM [I've never seen a live electronic music performance, rave, or even met one more person aside from myself in this area that has been into IDM as long or as heavily as I am :(]. So, forgive me if there are no underground or exclusive discoveries within the list; my collection of 250+ IDM discs is robust thanks to the Internet but nowhere near where it should be. Bounce back with your faves, I'm all for it! if anyone is familiar with the SW Missouri area, suggest ways I can remedy my IDM isolation through record store recommendations, raves, nearby performances, new online mail-order sites, etc. I've found a home with the IDMers _____________________________________________________________ Do You Yahoo!?
