Irene comments: >STILL unable to get hold of CD1/LP1 here, but the track "Tanzen" is >included on !K7's recent double CD set "Freestyle Files - Crackers >Delight". This is the only Pole I've heard so far - is it indicative of >the rest of his work? I was under the impression that it was quite >dubby? (which I cannot say of Tanzen). Assuming it's the same version that is on CD1, that track is fairly characteristic in terms of its level of dub-iness - it's a pretty rarefied version of the style. Listening to the record is definitely more on the cerebral than visceral end of the spectrum, although live and loud the distinctive clicking sounds of his music were quite "visceral" (kind of gut and ear-wrenching - in the best kind of way, of course). Sorry if everyone knows this, but I see from the Matador press materials that clicks and pops are generated from a randomly malfunctioning 4-Pole Waldorf Filter which also provided the inspiration for his name. As for you getting the CD - are Matador titles well-distributed in South Africa? Hoping I'm not truncating anyone's reading experience with my mysterious email powers, Bob
