Hey ya'll. I just wanted to drop a quick note to give the new Ben Neill CD Goldbug (with DJ Spooky and another collaborator, Page Hamilton, on vocals) a nice thumbs up. There is plenty of that jazzy, mutant trumpet sound mixed with some nice phat beats, dub, d-n-b, and even some trip hop. So far I have heard only a few sampled vocals. Very cool and textured. Quite danceable in spots. Plenty of bleeps. Comparisons would be difficult because of the trumpet which is unique (?) to this IDM artist.
