Almost every old skool IMD has had an Atari 1040 ST computer. Amazingly it
still is some's personal favorite. I don't own one, so I don't know. But I
know that lots of people use some really old version of Cubase on it, I
think 4 Hero uses Creator, and nothing else. From what I hear these are
really primative and easy to use programs, mainly the reason why they don't
give them up. I think Mike P. had one. Aphex, who knows? I know that some
people on IDM's nemesis Fatboy Slim uses an Atari and is scared that the
music will stop being made when his breaks down because he's afraid of new
computers and what not. So it seems to be a pretty solid machine. I think
I remember reading also that it was popular because it had that built in
MIDI port. Plus it's bloody cheap.
