on my weekly visit to cheap thrills yesterday i found 2 new worm interface releases. i picked the first one, "void travelling" by plasmalamp. only 8 tracks, & the song arrangement is quite sparse & simple at times, but the overall sound is quite enjoyable. it doesn't sound like autechre, but the melodies aren't that thought out either. oh well. the new album from baraki seemed quite good as well (more varied at least), but i figured i'd get it next week. more extensive review in a few days. i wish they'd carry ischemic folks. & the new colongib & pacman cds. also picked the following artifacts (warning, non-idm content ahead): - david kristian "woodworking (cricklewood remixes)" -- nice, but expect experimental stuff 'cause there's not too many beats in there (which makes sense because "cricklewood" didn't either) - fridge "anglepoised" 12" -- bleeehh, i was expecting electronics & all i get is post rock. boooohhh!!!! (okay, it's not _that_ bad, just a bit disappointing) - a "special edition" package from the late sonic death fan club/zine with an issue of sonic death with yoshimi on the front cover, a sonic death button, & a "goo demos" cd -- i didn't think i would ever find that (hell, i didn't even know it existed). cooler than the real goo! - ruf der heimat "machine kaput" -- peter brötzmann with DRUMS. great great great! -- david turgeon at http://www.notype.com
