I kind of liked it... ) As for pi, it's just a wannabe/suedosofisticated "Tetsuo the Iron Man", minus the eroticism and revenge thing. Anyways, I got a copy of the new Orbital Album "The Middle of Nowhere", and I must say... nice packaging! Varnish on paper usaully gets the thumbs up from me, and from the looks of it, it seems like they hit it 3 times. oh, the nice, thick, glossy "O" bekons to me... "touch me".... As for the music it's not bad. Starting off with a grand sci-fi-ish entrance, complete w/ eerie Star Trek-ish melodies with sampled and electronic "real" instruments, the music moves toward funkier, progressive, and rockier ideas. The overall attitude reminds me of "Snivilization"... turned into a techno/rock opera. Vocals also add an intersting twist to the Orbital formula. I've only listened to the album once, and I wasn't to into them, but it's not as bad as anything in the "diva/terminally-gay house" catagory. Staying within the Mid to Upper Mid tempo's, Orbital fans should be pleased. 8/10 -LtDS
