Hello, IDM-ers,

There's an upcoming event in San Francisco that you might be interested in -- a benefit rave for our Burning Man project, Freezing Man. The rave will feature a DJ set by my good friend Jeff Taylor, who spins a deep melange of idm-ish electro beats. (Some of you may also be familiar with Jeff's musical releases under the name Deluxe, and the song "Three Nudes in a Purple Garden, which he wrote and produced for Hardkiss.)

"But what is Freezing Man?" you ask. Last year the Freezing Man crew bought an ice cream truck, painted it with a fun trippy design, drove it to Burning Man, and handed out free ice cream to people. It all happened exactly as we envisioned and everybody had a great time; both the people involved in the project AND the people who received the free ice cream out of nowhere! =) We decided to do it again this year - after all, we have the truck now - and this party is a fundraiser so we don't have to pay for the ice cream out of our own pockets again. (You'd be surprised how expensive ice cream can get! =) ) To see some cool pictures of Freezing Man in action at Burning Man, visit our homepage at http://www.hyperreal.org/~mikew/freezing_man.

"BRRRR! A Freezing Man Party" will happen the night of Saturday, April 10, from 10 pm to 6 am at a fine, legal and BART-accessible warehouse space in San Francisco. DJs are Jeff Taylor (aka Deluxe), Cory West (Syntonic), Joseph Figueroa and Rus Maxham. And, as if that weren't enough, we'll be giving out free ice cream all night! Everything is being donated - the space, dj time, and decorations - except the ice cream. There'll be lots of friendly people to dance with and talk to - it's going to be a great time!

Tickets are $15-$25. We'd love it if everyone paid $25 for their ticket - this is a benefit, after all - the sliding scale is so nobody gets left out due to financial difficulty. There will be a donation box at the party, and donations will be very much appreciated. =)

There will be *no tickets available at the door* - you must have your tickets in advance. For tickets, contact me at xxxxx@xxxxxxxxx.xxx. Thanks for your support and hope to see you there!

Mike
