Re: (idm) Annoying mixtapes

I have several sets like this that I've done for my radio show or when I was
subbing in for other folks.

I guess my first venture into this sort of "entertainment" would have to lose
originality points.. Right after Geist CD001 was released (the 3 CD set of
Empire solo stuff) I ended up filling in for another DJ at my college station
and played the Alec Empire Mix Show, 2 hours of nonstop Alec Empire stuff
(none of which was even "riot beats!") from the set. Just me, a microphone,
two CD players and one box set of Alec... I had a friend tell me he was
sitting at a stoplight with the show blasting over his stereo when the pair of
females parked next to him pulled out (with a red light!) and made a hasty
exit after giving him nasty looks.
Hee Hee.

Last week I did the "Anti-Trans-Humanist" edition of my radio show, trying to
illustrate why it's good to be a Luddite through the use of various grim and
annoying electronic compositions (non-noise!).

I started with "Windowlicker" and went through Cylob's "Rewind", Like A Tim's
"Danger Everywhere", Regis "Theme From Streetwalker" as well as a couple of
other grating hard techno repeat-o-traxx, a bit of Kid606, AFX's "Funny Little
Man", a bit of the sloppy side of Pole, and included my "Fire Alarm
Immunization Suite" which included Jamie Lidell's "jeezus.proc" from the Trash
compilation. It was some of the most fun I've had doing my show in a while.
What's scary is that I actually got a couple of calls.
