methinks cnn.com snagged this from some comprehensive page about the film,
and omitted the rest. apparently this is the early form the story took,
when terry southern and kubrick were still hashing it out as more of a
terror-drama, but got dropped in favor of the bigwigs and military men
when it became a black comedy.

props to john baxter's recent "kubrick: a biography" for the info. quite
a comprehensive and fascinating book on the man, and on how movies really
get made and what one has to go through to impose any sort of artistic
vision on them.

hmmm...idm content...oh, anybody got an addy for jeff or phillipa at ninja
tune? i can't seem to find any old posts from them. i'm curious as to
whether we're going to get any new amon tobin material this year.
"permutation" is still tops!
