all of jah's releases on his label, 30hertz records, are fantastic.
_celtic poets_ has a totally hokey concept that you can probably guess
from the title, so i was extremely surprised to find i liked it so much.
_the light programme_ and _umbra sumus_ are both better - world-influenced
dubby orchestral jams with occasional vox and great melody.
his last album on island, _heaven & earth_, puts these to shame though,
it's so good. traditional chinese arrangements and instruments meet
laswell-touched jazzy jams with scratching meet middle eastern/indian
grooves. great...
