I'd still advocate not doing the mod as is described on Gearslutz. If you have the CE300 in a standard send/return set up you can do all the gain staging you need externally. However, try it out before you mod it. If you have no problems with overload then you're good to go. If you do find that the input level is not sufficient at controlling clipping then go ahead do the mod. But if you do I would recommend taking the junction of R2 and C1 to ground via an additional 10K resistor instead of changing R2 to 10K from 1M. Tony www.oakleysound.com
