I heard lots of good stuff about the SKAMpler comp over the past year, so I bought it about 6 months ago. I like it very much and would love to hear more from these artists. In the meantime, I have been trying to learn more about who the various artists are, where to find more material by them, etc. The names Boards of Canada, Jega, gescom, Lego Feet, seem to bounce around on this list a whole lot, but it seems like the threads are always in some obscure trainspotter code. And to top that off "v/vm" is thrown into the same threads and I don't know if that's a label or a band and if it is a subset or a superset of SKAM or a competitior or a collaborator or what. In six months I still know next to nothing about any of these artists. Does SKAM release stuff on CD generally? Do any of these artists record under other names or on other labels? Are there any LPs or EPs from these artists, or does one have to buy 12" vinyl to hear more SKAM? It would be nice if someone posted a little treatise along the lines of "Everything you've wanted to know about SKAM but were afraid to ask." IDMers tend to do this kind of thing periodically anyway, so lets have it. Thanks in advance! -Chris
