Hi Kenny Both signals are definitely not required. I think the only devices that ever used the continue were the CSQ-600 as master with the TR-808 as slave. I have never found any other device. Even the SBX-80 does not send continue. Same with fill in. To my knowledge even the TR-606 does not support it. The only combination, that uses fill in is TR-808->TR-808.
