All--
Just to get this started, I don't think I was on this list when the subject "it takes the physical..." was initiated. Somebody please tell me what the hell that means!
Anyway. Every genre of every form of art has its forerunners. They're usually the first. They're always the best. Of course, drill n bass is no different. It has the fathers (we know who they are) who share from each other, who sorta sound the same. Every genre has to have things that kinda sound the same--that's what a genre is! Calling anybody a ripoff (i.e. "Brace Yourself" of TJ) is a waste of time if the dude doing the so-called ripping off makes great music. People don't like a genre because it's all different--people like a genre because a lot of it sounds alike a lot of other stuff.
So. I guess what I'm saying here (as the guy who said drill n bass was going to die soon) is that I was wrong before. As long as there is interest in the concept itself, the music will be made, and folks, we have a genre.

Like Dr. Frankenstein over his creation ("it's alive...it's ALIVE!")
