(idm) the good old days

As far as availability/affordability goes, you really can't go wrong with
the "A Brief History of Ambient" 2CD comps on Virgin. They're up to at
least Volume Three, maybe Four now (with 2CDs in each volume) but IMHO
Vol. One is the best by far. I stumbled upon this when I was in high
school and it opened whole new worlds for me. A lot of the folks people
have been namechecking are on Vol. One - both Enos, Tangerine Dream,
Froese, Hassell, Czukay, and others. So it's a good starting point for
discovering your roots. More inna ambient stylee than idm, but amazing all
the same. This never came out on vinyl to my knowledge. Enjoy...Brock

PS - Thanx to all for the Carl Craig help, I just got the Elements comp
today and am digging it. Different than what I'd expected, but good all
the same. Now to find those elusive 69 12"s.
