Hey, all you DSP abusers! I recently did the editing and mastering of a piece my mother wrote. It's a string quartet called "The Arcadia Quartet", and her name is Linda Worsley. Even though she is my mum, I feel confident in saying that she is a first rate composer, and that this is a really cool piece of music. She's told me that a lot of the rhythmic feel of it was inspired by the rock music she heard via her offspring -- in particular the guitar ostinatos from the Edge in U2. I'm planning on doing at least one remix myself and I'd like to see a couple of other people try their hand at it. My ultimate goal is to release a CD of her piece with remixes, which would definitely be novel in the classical world. If you're interested, the quartet in it's entirety is up at http://www.mp3.com/chaircrusher/ This is a professional studio recording, so there is plenty of really nice string sounds for sampling. kent williams -- xxxx@xxxxxx.xxx
