I would like to second (I think we're up to fifth or sixth now actually) the high marks given to the 3-CDR set by N Zammuto. There's a lot to digest here, but it's all very well done. Disc 1 is a 70 minutes of flowing ambient soundscape that has a highly Oval-ic quality to it, with multiple semi-rhythmic interruptions of sound which never really upset the flow of the work. It's really subtle and quite impressive. Disc 2 is an hour's worth of rhythmic static and hiss, Pan Sonic without the hum, with some quieter Pole moments thrown in. It's quite minimal, and there are many very tasty chunks contained within. Disc 3 is a wide variety of things, with quiet breakbeats, otherworldly squeaks and pops, interesting vocal samples, and a wide range of tempo and organic and electronic instrumentation, all sewn together in a real heaphone-friendly quilt. It's very engaging and surprising, a lot of fun to listen to. Overall, I am very impressed. ----- Adam J Weitzman --- NewsEdge Corporation ----- http://www.newsedge.com -- http://www.newspage.com "Humor is the best way of dealing with complete and utter nonsense." - John Lydon
