A thousand pardons for the incompleteness of this message, but I'm so psyched that I'm not a week late on this discussion, I can't resist. A relevant (to this list) discography can be found at http://www.hyperreal.org/music/library/discogs/ecstasy_of_st_theresa which lists the "fluidtrance centauri" CD5 (the page doesn't mention this, but it's from a Peel session)- the opening track on that ("Fluidium") is about as appealing as anything late-80s 4AD flavored gets to my ears; _Free-D_ (feat. the mighty Sooper Kosmos); and the obligatory remix single. These are all from the "Guy Fixsen" years of 93/94, when the former Moose associate was producing them and presumably hooking them up with people like John Peel. I remember the line-up being an extended family tree (like Belle and Sebastian or, uh, Marble Sheep and the Run Down Sun's Children). If you've been dreaming of an Ivo Watts-Russell version of the early Seefeel sound, you might've just hit the jackpot. They had an album prior on a Czech label- haven't heard it, but sources indicate that it was more rock-oriented. Given the climate of the time, I'd pin the shoegaze bet at 3:2, for. I had assumed that they rode off into the sun until I saw them listed for a CMJ showcase a month ago. Apparently they have had personnel changes to the tune of two remaining members and are now eeking out tedious Enigma-style dirges. Take that for what it's worth, I guess. -rob
