well, I know what i want to read about on this list:

--reviews
--RELEVANT thoughts on IDM records
--new releases
--articles/interviews
--occasional discographies, when requested
--posts on interesting clubs/web sites/magazines/books/etc. that are
RELEVANT to IDM
--sale/trade/want lists (though braps whitezone seems to have eliminated
the need for these)

James, if you ever do create this 'idm2', please let me know. As much as
it shows the elitism bullshit that goes on here, i still think its
needed. perhaps it could be semi-moderated, like the ambient list (you
don't get half this shit there).

now, as I want to try and keep this list as free and clean of rubbish
(like this thread!) here's a bit about MUSIC:
--------------
Just what can you fellows tell me about Karaoke Kalk?
I just picked up the motel ep (kk04), which is WICKED!
the guy at the record store told me that it was a combined effort between
the people between kandis and the other artist whose recorded on kk
(shit, i forget the name!!);
is this so?
I'd post a review, but stu said he want some reviews of the kk stuff for
his zine, so i sent it to him, not sure if he'll use it, he hasn't got
back to me yet (damn record label executive types hee hee, sm :-)

I just got Kandis' "senking", haven't got to listen to it yet, but i'll
try to get a review up later.
--------------

The Spunk Jazz (ILL01) comp. has been on my stereo a lot lately. While I
can not stand the tracks from the (relatively) big names, Animals on
Wheels (just too harsh and head pounding on + the overuse of those
generic drill n' bass bits) and Si Begg(WAAAY too long and dragged out.
Mr. Begg's prolific, often inconsistent output has me going crazy), I
absolutely LOVE the tracks from the lesser known artists, Milky Boy, Come
On Feel the Nothing, Mould, Vert, and Bubbah's Tum. Also featured are
excellent tracks from the (ever consistent) spymaniacs, Paddington Breaks
and Value Ape (aka Martian Wood, one half of WAFTA), and our lovable own
Hoarse Operater (aka Horse Opera of Planet Mu, aka KungFunk of IDM)

also, doing a bit of digging on ill shows that these are also floating
around [possibly on white label?]:

ILL02 AFRICAN NIGHTFLIGHT Make Up Your Mind
ILL03 Conemelt Rocker's Ruin EP

anyone know if these are in the same vein as spunk?
care to post reviews, folks?

goodnight jazz people,
