here as such:

In 1994 I heard Aphex Twin for the first time ("At The Heart Of It All"
-
off NIN's "Further Down the Spiral") and became enthralled with this
exciting genre called techno-ambient (or as its now called - IDM).<<<

I'd have to say that this one track written because rdj 'thought it was
what a band called nine inch nails should sound like' is what pulled me
into the realm of IDM which i so dearly love. I was into all of the
nin, ministry, EN, f242, etc until i heard more tracks like this.

I know someone asked before, but I wonder what percentage of people on
this list 'arrived here' after hearing this track by afx.

The track certainly goes on my 'songs that make you weep' as well as
"vletrmx21", u-ziq - "tango n' vectif"+"iesope", sqpshr - "anirog d9",
boc - "everything you ..", and I am probably the only person willing to
add nin - "something i can never have" [come on, it made me cry when I
was 13 ;)]

imho I think this thread is compiling a list of beautiful tracks that do
what I love most about this genre -> invoking emotion w/o words .. or of
course just making my feet move. I doubt we all cry that much :)

btw, I'm only 16 (is that the youngest age for an idm-list member or
are there any younger teenies lurking out there? <g>)

On another topic - Could someone comment on the David Kristian/Sian CD
on Alien8. I havn't heard any reviews except for the one written by
alien8. Thanks.
