Have not see this on the list and if it has been discussed please forgive. I recently picked up IT era Vulgaris Ncoded picture disk. Track listing is as follows <as found on http://www.matson.it/minus-habens/itbio.html>: ERA VULGARIS NCODED Picture Disc LP featuring 8 tracks taken from IT's Era Vulgaris CD and reworked by: ATTRITION, BRIAN LUSTMORD, THE BLACK DOG, LASSIGUE BENDTHAUS, ASTRAL BODY, MONOMORPH, NEBULA, RED SECTOR A. (Disturbance 1997) ERA VULGARIS NCODED - DROP 6.3 CD featuring 8 tracks taken from IT's Era Vulgaris CD and reworked by: ATTRITION, BRIAN LUSTMORD, DIVE, LASSIGUE BENDTHAUS, ASTRAL BODY, MONOMORPH, NEBULA, RED SECTOR A. (Materiali Sonori 1997) Notice that the cd is missing the black dog mix. Now for a quick review <wish I had more time>. This thing is great. Styles ranges from skamish to dark ambient. All in all this is good electronica. Almost all genres are explored. The drum and Bass on here is fantastic. Two tracks stand out, those being the remixes done by Lassigue and the Black Dog. The Lassigue track is a smooth electronic piece while the Black Dog track continues to amaze me. Since the break up, the black dog sound has taken on many forms. No longer does it have that trademark quirkyness <not that I minded that trademark>. Instead it is a new quirkyness each time <this making any sense?>. Case in point, the bullit remix has a nice jungle/acid jazz feel while this remix has a dark and sweeping ambient tone. This is not a light song, it conjures up some very dark elements. Well done. In short buy this, all the tracks are good. Note the picture disc is limited to 555 copies and it is a noisy pressing <every pciture disk/colored vinyl I own is usally noisy>. Unfortunately the cd version does not have the black dog mix. Now for props to modern music. To often we point out only the bad, and as such I am doing my part to correct this. I ordered Era Vulgaris from modern music and received it, only to find that my pressing had numerous flaws <skips etc..>. I contacted PJ and he sent me another copy while I sent back the old one. No questions asked. It is this type of service that keeps me coming back. keep it clear.... -dan
