I can't remember anymore. I thought Scorn's Logghi Barogghi might
have been the first thing with a beat that really caught my ear, but
now that I think of it, I had a bunch of Muslim Gauze from much earlier.
DJ Cam's "Substances" pulled me over completely from ambient music.

Does anyone else think DJ Cam dropped the ball with Beat Assassinated? It's
not so much that it doesn't sound like his other work, it's that it sounds so
much like everyone else's. I loved DJ Cam because so much of what he did before
was in minor and melancholy. Is anyone else doing that sort of sample/DJ work?

I've only bought one record, Crash Worship's "Whatever thy Hand Findeth..."
and had a friend tape it for me. I can't go near needles of any form.
