+1 for me too. Peak is an amazing synth, so many features at such a
great price point.

I can sit for hours on it and just design sounds/patches.  I paired mine
with a black keystep but would love to have a full size keyboard to use
with it.

There is so much under the hood, and so much readily available on the
front panel.

Perfectly laid out and a well thought out synth.  Build is solid.

I would love to someday see a keyboard version.

I have been enjoying pairing the Peak with an Infinite Response Vax77 controller that sends Poly Aftertouch and getting some wonderful CS-80-like PolyAT brass and related sounds. The PolyAT implementation is just “Aftertouch” in the mod matrix and treats channel and poly AT the same from a programming perspective.

Since "classic" synth designs tended to feature only two EGs, think of this as getting a free envelope. Ditto with the LFOs; the bonus ones are only accessible through menu diving, but there are two directly addressable from front panel controls.

The late 2018 update made it much better than it had been on release, but it still doesn't sound quite correct to my ears when compared to vintage Yamaha FM instruments, creating an FM stack with more than one modulator causes a weird trait where the pitch seems to never quite settle down. It's pretty unmusical to my ears, so I limit it to only a single carrier and single modulator.
