Its not 100% an SH-101 but its 100% an amazing synth in its own right. The bass abilities are right on par with a real SH-101 so that is correct. The noise modulation / resonance is a little different in some cases from a 101. The Poly mode is cool. Its battery powered and feels well built. It also plays well with other analogue gear. The sequencer has the all important "transpose as you play by holding down the transpose feature"! What more can anyone ask of a cheap synth? Its awesome.
